FPGA-console SuperStation One from Retro Remake may get a cheaper Lite version

Developer Taki Udon showed a prototype of SuperStation One Lite, so in the future, Retro Remake may delight gamers with a cheaper version of the SuperStation One FPGA console - without analog video outputs and Super Dock support, but with reduced power consumption and improved cooling.

Developer Taki Udon and his company Retro Remake have already given the world the SuperStation One FPGA console. Its feature is hardware emulation of old platforms without software emulators and input lag.

The console provides native support for MiSTer FPGA ecosystem cores, including PlayStation 1, Sega Saturn, Nintendo 64, NES, Atari, and more. Now it has become known that a cheaper version of the device may be on the way.

Taki Udon teased a prototype of a new console called SuperStation One Lite. According to the developer: "Last month we built a prototype of the $200 (17,020 rubles) SS1 Lite version, which has no analog output and no dock support. It consumes 2-3W less power and has amazing airflow."

The prototype is cheaper due to the lack of analog video output and Super Dock support, which will allow buyers to choose a more affordable option if these features are not initially needed.

Simply put, it's the same SS1, but with an HDMI port, reduced power consumption, and improved cooling, which may increase the overall efficiency and performance of the console.

Taki has not yet confirmed that SuperStation One Lite will become an official product and eventually see the light of day. But if Retro Remake is working on a prototype, then the team is probably working on this idea.

In addition, Taki Udon mentioned a potential line of portable FPGA devices on social media. It seems that the Chinese company Retro Remake currently has many projects in development.
