Microsoft to Release Disc Version of Forza Horizon 6 for PS5 - With One Catch

Forza Horizon 6 will be released on PS5 on Blu-ray disc. Due to the game's size, owners of the physical copy will likely still have to download some data from the internet.

Forza Horizon 6 will be released on PS5 in digital and physical editions on January 26, however, disc owners will have to download additional data from the internet.

Playground Games has confirmed the game's release on Blu-ray. It is not yet known what part of the project will be recorded on the disc. It is possible that it will only serve as a key to launch after downloading the necessary files.

Forza Horizon 6 on Xbox Series X|S takes up almost 150 GB, and the PS5 version will likely require a comparable amount. However, a single Blu-ray disc for PS5 holds about 100 GB of data. To record the entire game on physical media, Microsoft will have to release a two-disc set.

Nevertheless, the boxed edition will allow you to put the game on a shelf, resell it, or lend it to friends. The main question is the preservation of the game for the future: without downloading additional data, one disc may not be enough to launch.
