Recently, the demo version of the game Teach My Little Sister How To Drive went viral on Steam. As the title suggests, the authors invite players to teach their younger sister how to drive a car.
The project is positioned as a chaotic simulator where you can freely communicate with the character: "Trapped in the passenger seat, you can only do one thing - verbally tell your sister how to drive properly."
To implement their idea, the authors use AI technologies. The project was noticed by players, and the demo version gained increased popularity, which created certain difficulties.
The developers said that over the past month, the number of players in the demo version has grown more than 20 times. They are now spending over a thousand dollars a day on its AI services:
When releasing the paid version, we plan to include the expected AI costs in the game's price. After purchase, players will not be separately billed for individual AI token usage. It's not that each individual player is particularly expensive. Overall costs have increased due to the large number of people playing simultaneously. To continue supporting the demo version, we also took out a bank loan.
The authors of Teach My Little Sister How To Drive currently plan to continue providing the demo version. However, the team consists of only four people, and such a financial burden may force the developers to close access to the game's demo version even before the full release.
