"Without the game itself?!": Gamers criticize Playstation for God of War Laufey Collector's Edition - no download code included
Sony's policy continues to annoy Playstation console owners.
Sony recently reminded players about God of War Laufey. The company unveiled a collector's edition of the game, priced at 150 euros (about 14 thousand rubles). The announcement evoked far from the most positive emotions among many players.
The God of War Laufey collector's edition will include a figurine of the main character Laufey (Faye), Kratos' wife, a deck of 51 oracle cards, and a mini artbook. As it turned out, the game itself was not included in the set - there will be no download code for the PlayStation Store. This edition is expected to be released on February 16, 2027.
Players, like myschoo, are outraged that the God of War Laufey game itself was not included in the set:
Without the game itself?! Previously, collector's editions at least had a digital code. But this is just a box with souvenir products. Not a 'game edition'. Very disappointing.
However, myschoo noted that technically Sony has an excuse in this situation. The company presented a 'Collector's Box', not a 'collector's edition':
Ah, so they call it a 'Collector's Box' - there's their excuse.
Some companies offer collector's editions without a disc: this way players can buy the set and purchase the game separately on their desired platform. However, God of War Laufey will be released exclusively on PlayStation 5 consoles, so the refusal to include the game in the set raises even more questions and dissatisfaction among PlayStation community members.
