Hogwarts Legacy will get DLSS 5 - NVIDIA reduced memory consumption and accelerated AI model
The game will soon become more technologically advanced.
Recently, the next update for Hogwarts Legacy was announced, but not by the developers themselves, but by NVIDIA. Previously, the game was already used to demonstrate the capabilities of DLSS 5, and now it has been reported that an update with this technology will be released soon and all players will be able to appreciate its capabilities.
NVIDIA stated that the model size was reduced by 24% (to approximately 118 million parameters) and video memory usage at 4K resolution was reduced by 20%: “As a result, the GPU load is halved compared to the September version, while maintaining comparable image quality.”
The developers used the DLSS 5 SDK to fine-tune the technology's integration to preserve the game's artistic intent and style (the toolkit allows specifying which objects to apply the technology to):
The release of the update for Hogwarts Legacy with NVIDIA DLSS 5 is scheduled for November 5, 2026. The technology will be available on PCs with GeForce RTX 50 Series graphics cards, as well as GeForce NOW and RTX Spark.
The technology is also planned to be added to the free-to-play action RPG Where Winds Meet from the Everstone Studio team. The developers are working on implementing DLSS 3D-Guided Neural Rendering support.
