You can play the remake of the cult Russian quest Sublustrum for free on Steam - a new playtest has started

A classic returns in a new format.

Recently, Brickworks Games studio and publisher HypeTrain Digital announced the start of open testing for the Sublustrum remake. The project is positioned as a complete reinterpretation of the cult game from 2008.

According to the plot, the protagonist of Sublustrum arrives at the apartment of his missing brother. All that remains of him is a machine designed to immerse a person into the depths of the subconscious. After repairing this device, the protagonist enters and travels to the Shimmering World – an “ever-changing surreal space woven from memories, where the boundaries of reality blur, and the only reliable guide remains sound.”

As part of this testing, the developers want to understand how the Sublustrum remake is perceived by players:

Explore the Professor's house, piece together the clues he left behind, listen carefully to what the house is trying to tell you, restore strange mechanisms, and find your way into the Shimmering World. The open playtest gives us the opportunity to see how Sublustrum unfolds before a much wider audience: what paths players choose, what they understand intuitively, and where the world begins to resist explanation.
