Cyberpunk 2077 is a single-player game, but some CD Projekt RED fans would like to see multiplayer or co-op. Such features may appear thanks to modders.
Recently, a gameplay trailer for the NightCoop project was published online — it's a fan-made co-op mode for Cyberpunk 2077, whose creators claim that "the entire story can be completed together." This video showed real gameplay from co-op sessions on two PCs (host + partner), with synchronized audio recordings.
The mod creators clarified a number of technical nuances:
- Dialogue choices are decided by voting: the majority option applies to all players
- Story scenes run simultaneously for both players and are skipped together
- Enemies and NPCs are calculated on one PC, and their actions are precisely replicated on the other
- Riding in the same car, VR training, timed dialogues — everything is available together
- There is a switch for PvP; a downed player can be revived
The creators of NightCoop promise to launch beta testing "soon"
Recently, MDRevoice announced a similar co-op mod for Cyberpunk 2077. In a few days, he plans to launch testing, but for now, the modder is not sure that the mod will allow players to fully complete the game in co-op at the start of the open beta. Also under development is the project "CyberMP" — an unofficial multiplayer.
