New edition of "Helvetia" to be released in Russian: a eurogame about building a city in the Swiss Alps

Russian users will have a chance to evaluate the new edition of the board eurogame "Helvetia", in which they will have to build houses, produce goods, increase the population of the settlement, and engage in trade in the Swiss Alps.

Crowd Games publishing house announced that it will release a new edition of Helvetia (also known as Helvetia: Second Edition) in Russian — a board game by Matthias Cramer, game designer and well-known author of "Watergate" and "Glen More".

Pre-order is scheduled for the second quarter of 2027, and this project, by the way, already has a page on the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter. The original "Helvetia" was released back in 2011 only in German, so it passed by many board game enthusiasts.

This is a dynamic and very thematic eurogame, where participants create an ideal village in the Swiss Alps (in the new edition — already a whole city). You will need to marry residents, increase the population, build houses, produce goods, and engage in trade.

The highlight of "Helvetia" is its interconnected production chains. For example, building a house requires an awake resident (and they like to sleep after work) and some goods, and their production may require up to two other goods — it is very important to plan actions correctly and feel the moment.

In the second edition, players will find less fiddling — excessive and tedious fuss with components, a wider composition (from 1 to 5 people), more competition and variety of strategies thanks to new mechanics and modules. Plus, all this will be in a more concise and pleasant design.
