Ghost of Yotei was purchased by approximately 5.4 million people, compared to nearly 7 million for its predecessor. Meanwhile, the original Ghost of Tsushima generated $418 million, about 3% more.
The difference is explained by prices: Ghost of Yotei was released for $70 and has only received two discounts so far, while Ghost of Tsushima launched at $60 and dropped to $45 in less than three months. As a result, the revenue per buyer for the new game is approximately 26% higher.
There is also a difference in console audience. At a comparable stage of sales, Ghost of Tsushima was on the market with approximately 117 million PS4s and 10 million PS5s. Ghost of Yotei is only available on PS5, whose sales have approached 100 million.
In 2026, the new game attracted another 1.8 million buyers and generated $121 million. However, the revenue growth rate is slowing down faster than its predecessor, although the game maintains good sales even with a small number of discounts and a busy release calendar.
