Developers of alcoholic Russian roulette with a demoness got scared of AI and canceled the demo release - competitors might copy the game and release it faster than the original

Testing of Drunken Goddess Reflux is now planned to be conducted in a different format.

Drunken Goddess Reflux is ranked 65th on the list of most anticipated Steam games, and many were looking forward to the demo release. However, the developers at Alliance Arts studio have revised their plans and decided against releasing a public demo. This is due to their concerns about artificial intelligence.

Instead of a regular demo, they plan to conduct closed testing of Drunken Goddess Reflux:

We are concerned that, based on the demo, projects imitating or copying the visual presentation and gameplay of Drunken Goddess Reflux could be quickly created using AI or other tools, and released before our game.

The threat from AI is not the only reason for not releasing the demo:

We planned to release a demo with certain restrictions on publishing and streaming gameplay, but we concluded that we would not be able to properly control compliance with such rules.

The developers of Drunken Goddess Reflux explained that they will conduct "online gaming sessions in a closed environment" — access will be granted to people who review and agree to the participant requirements. Information is distributed through the official Discord* channel.
