In one store, the new installment of the GTA franchise lost to a Nintendo project.

Grand Theft Auto VI pre-orders are available not only on the PlayStation Store and Xbox stores. You can also purchase a "physical" edition (a box with a code) from various retailers — some of them share purchase statistics.

Recently, users noticed the statistics of the Amazon store, where you can also pre-order The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for Nintendo Switch 2. The original Nintendo 64 version received 99 out of 100 Metacritic points, and the service included it in a selection of must-play games.

According to Amazon statistics, "over the last month," between 60,000 and 100,000+ pre-orders for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time were placed (a wide range of data).

In the case of Grand Theft Auto VI, the numbers are "more modest" — for the PlayStation 5 version, the statistics indicate "over 9,000 copies sold," and for Xbox Series X|S, "over 3,000 copies in the last month."

It turns out that on Amazon, Grand Theft Auto VI pre-orders are 5 to 8 times lower than The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. This is statistics from only one store — GTA VI and Zelda can be purchased on many other platforms. Some analysts believe that total GTA VI pre-orders have already exceeded 6 million copies.

Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for release on November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles.
