Sony and FromSoftware never released a PC version of Bloodborne, so tech enthusiasts took matters into their own hands. Thanks to the shadPS4 emulator, many were able to experience the game from the creators of Dark Souls and Elden Ring on PC with mod and multiplayer support.
The creators of the shadPS4 emulator continue to improve the software, and recently, a player known as ProteinGaming97 highlighted technical improvements. Developers managed to eliminate video memory leaks, which positively impacted the game's performance.
In the comparative video published by ProteinGaming97, it can be seen that in one scene, the frame rate difference can be almost 20 FPS. Bloodborne was tested on shadPS4 emulator versions 0.19.0 and 0.20.1:
A massive update has been released for Bloodborne on PC! VRAM leaks that caused severe performance drops and crashes [exits] have been fixed. The game is now even closer to perfection.
Players find it 'amusing' that companies that have refused PC releases for years will now 'be punished by AI reverse-engineering and making them more performant and free on PC'.
