Zenless Zone Zero developers showed Phoenix's mechanics - a heroine capable of resurrecting after taking fatal damage
The heroine will have the opportunity to make a spectacular return to battle.
Zenless Zone Zero developers are preparing for the imminent release of update 3.3, "Journey to the Sky". miHoYo (HoYoverse) has published a diary dedicated to the mechanics of the new heroine.
The focus is on Phoenix, an S-rank character with the Fire element, "Anomaly" specialization, belonging to the "Krampus Supervisory Service" faction.
The developers stated that she can quickly accumulate anomaly and is also capable of returning to the battlefield after defeat and restoring a portion of her health (HP):
When Phoenix takes fatal damage and leaves the battlefield, the "Second Life" effect is triggered: she can re-enter the battlefield and restore a portion of HP. This effect can be triggered no more than once within a certain period.
Phoenix's ultimate ability, "Through a Thousand Deaths," allows her to take flight and then dive at an enemy, fully expending HP and causing an explosion that deals fire damage and puts the agent into a "Burnout" state:
If Phoenix is brought onto the battlefield while in the "Burnout" state, she surrounds herself with flames and deals fire damage to nearby enemies, continuously restoring HP. When the finishing blow hits an enemy in an attribute anomaly state, an anomaly release effect is triggered, dealing damage from the corresponding attribute anomaly with a certain multiplier. If the anomaly release causes a critical hit, the critical damage of that hit is further increased.
