Activists intimidated Russian developers with accusations of Satanism propaganda - they froze work on the game "Job Fit For a Devil"

News

Some saw disturbing elements in the project.

Baba Yaga Games studio, which previously released "Vasilisa and Baba Yaga," recently announced the suspension of work on a new project "Job Fit For a Devil".

According to the plot, players were assigned the role of a devil serving Peter the Great. Some people in Russia had complaints about the emperor's image, and the authors were also accused of promoting Satanism.

Baba Yaga Games did not expect such a reaction and are now afraid to continue developing the game "Job Fit For a Devil":

[...] after the game's announcement, we faced a completely unexpected situation that we could not have foreseen. We started receiving complaints and accusations of promoting Satanism and discrediting the image of Peter the Great. To be honest, we are scared to continue working on the game. After the complaints about the project at the announcement, we realized that we could spend a year or two on development, and at release, the game could simply be banned due to the dissatisfaction of "concerned citizens." We decided that we needed a backup plan and returned to work on "Mountain Cabin".

Players can still add "Job Fit For a Devil" to their Steam wishlist at the following link. The developers "really want" to continue working and are not canceling the game — "it's just on pause for now".
