Recently, Rockstar Games studio published the release trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI. Players noticed that the video managed to surpass the lifetime views of the GTA V release trailer on YouTube in just three days — the latter was published 13 years ago.
Over the past years, the Grand Theft Auto V release promo accumulated only 34.6 million views on the Rockstar Games studio's YouTube channel. In comparison, the GTA VI release trailer already has over 50 million views.
Over 13 years, the Grand Theft Auto franchise's audience has clearly expanded. Rockstar Games launched the multiplayer project GTA Online, which attracted many players.
Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for release on November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles. The developers have not yet revealed anything about the online mode: the project is being promoted as a single-player game. There is an opinion that a hypothetical GTA VI Online will be launched several months after the release of the 'single-player part'.
One enthusiast has already managed to create a remake of the release trailer — he used the Grand Theft Auto V toolkit to recreate scenes from the new Rockstar Games video.
