Samson creators confirmed studio closure. Industry veteran made a statement
Liquid Swords, the studio founded by industry veteran Christofer Sundberg, is closing after six years, although Samson: A Tyndalston Story performed significantly better on consoles than on PC.
Liquid Swords, the studio founded by former Just Cause development lead Christofer Sundberg, is ceasing operations after six years, despite Samson performing better on consoles compared to PC.
The team released the project Samson: A Tyndalston Story in April 2026. The project was conceived as a successor to Just Cause, which would also appeal to fans of Mad Max, Driver, and Max Payne, and help pass the time while waiting for GTA VI.
Previously, information about the closure of Liquid Swords appeared online, and now it has been confirmed by Sundberg himself, an industry veteran with over 25 years of experience.
The developer wrote on X:
Liquid Swords is closing. Samson performed significantly better on consoles, but it wasn't enough to save the studio. I am proud of our team and what we created. We are discussing further support for Samson. We make mistakes, learn, get up, and move on. I never give up. More information will be available soon.
