TEAM-VESTIGE studio recently released DISREPAIR — A Tale Beyond Half-Life on PC via Steam. The authors position it as an atmospheric horror mod with puzzles, which is a total conversion of Valve's Half-Life 2 shooter.
The events of DISREPAIR — A Tale Beyond Half-Life unfold after the Black Mesa catastrophe and the devastating Seven Hour War. Players are invited to take on the role of Nathan Heymann — a lone Alliance photographer who was sent to the radioactive ruins of Black Mesa after reports of anomalies hidden deep within the abandoned office complex emerged.
Nathan possesses only a camera and standard equipment, and the hero was given a simple task: “enter, document, return.” However, the developers explain, the deeper he descends into the crumbling complex, the more reality begins to shatter.
The DISREPAIR — A Tale Beyond Half-Life page on Steam is available at the following link. The developers distribute this project for free. The initial reviews are mostly positive (the overall rating has not yet been formed).
