Warhorse to release new Kingdom Come in a few months, while Lord of the Rings RPG will have to wait - rumor
It seems LOTR fans will have a very long wait.
It was already known that Warhorse Studios is currently developing a new installment in the Kingdom Come franchise, as well as a project based on "The Lord of the Rings" / "Middle-earth". However, the developers have not yet announced a specific release date.
But now an insider named bertik11, who previously leaked information about an updated version of Kingdom Come: Deliverance, has emerged. According to his source, the new Kingdom Come is in an advanced stage of development and is currently being tested. It is assumed that the release could take place in the first half of 2027 (it might be called Kingdom Come Salvation – such a trademark was previously registered).
bertik11 suggests that the game might be released earlier:
I was told that development seems to be going well, and there is a possibility that we will see the game sooner than some expect. Of course, being in the "testing" phase does not necessarily mean that the game is finished – release dates can always change.
According to bertik11, the Lord of the Rings game may soon move into full development. Project participants are allegedly "evaluating and discussing some of the work already done on the game". The results, according to his source, look promising.
A release is not expected anytime soon: the development of the Lord of the Rings game could take 5-6 years.
