Left 4 Dead RTX Announced - NVIDIA Showcases Enhanced Version of L4D 2

An alternative, technologically advanced version of Valve's shooter is now in development.

NVIDIA recently announced the development of Left 4 Dead RTX. This is an unofficial project, being worked on by the NoMercyStudios team, with NightSightProduction acting as the publisher.

Despite the name, it's not about the first installment of the zombie shooter franchise — modders are updating Left 4 Dead 2. This version plans to include ray tracing support, as well as modern NVIDIA technologies, including RTX Neural Radiance Cache (NRC), DLSS Ray Reconstruction, and Multi Frame Generation. This will allow for a “complete transformation of the game's lighting and visual component.”

The developers have published a trailer for Left 4 Dead RTX:

The project will be distributed for free, but a licensed copy of the original game is required to run it.

Currently, the Left 4 Dead RTX project does not have a specific release date or window. NoMercyStudios is currently looking for specialists to join the team who can help with the project's development.

NVIDIA also announced that on October 22, Cyberpunk 2077 will add support for DLSS 4.5 and Dynamic Multi Frame Generation technology.
