Has PlayStation Studios quietly expanded? Sony hinted at acquiring rights to one of the games

A new PlayStation ad featuring Lisa and a limited DualSense hinted that Sony may have secretly acquired Ember Lab or the rights to their new game.

Sony may have secretly acquired Ember Lab, the studio behind Kena: Scars of Kosmora. This was hinted at in a new PlayStation advertisement, although there is no official confirmation of the deal.

The Sony Interactive Entertainment video is dedicated to the collaboration with Thai singer Lisa and a limited DualSense controller, and also showcases PlayStation games. Among them, Kena: Scars of Kosmora was noticed with a note that it is SIE's intellectual property.

However, this could be an accidental error by Sony. Reddit users found a document according to which Ember Lab remains an independent studio, and the rights to the game belong to it. At the same time, the registration is dated March 2026, so it cannot be ruled out that the data has not yet been updated after a possible deal.

Earlier it was reported that Kena: Scars of Kosmora will be released on PS5 and PC in 2027.
