Square Enix Changes Final Fantasy VII Revelation Rules: Hardcore Mode Will Be Available Immediately

Will Final Fantasy VII Revelation be the most challenging installment in the series? Square Enix is preparing a hardcore mode from the very beginning

Final Fantasy VII Revelation will allow players to choose a high difficulty level from the first playthrough, and after completing the story, it will offer additional challenges, including battles with powerful Weapons.

In Final Fantasy VII Remake and Rebirth, hard mode was only unlocked after completing the main story. Now Square Enix is changing its approach: according to director Naoki Hamaguchi, the studio wants to make battles more challenging without artificially restricting player options.

The advanced combat system allows for tactical maneuvers, joint abilities, and the FITS mechanic. The dynamic mode will also return, reminiscent of the hard mode from previous installments, with leveled-up characters and strong enemies.

Additional battles with powerful Weapons will be available during the first playthrough, not just in subsequent ones.
