Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 May Require a New TV - Here's Why

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will surprise with a requirement on PS5 and Xbox - players will have to check their settings

Infinity Ward will introduce an unusual restriction in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 and Warzone with the start of Season One: to access performance mode on PS5 and Xbox, VRR will need to be enabled.

This was announced on the official Call of Duty Updates account. If the game is limited to 60 Hz, it is recommended to check if your monitor or TV supports VRR and 120 Hz. You also need to make sure that the corresponding features are activated in the console and display settings.

It is still possible to run the game on a screen without VRR, but in the graphics settings only quality mode or a similar one will be available. The restriction specifically applies to performance mode, which cannot be selected without compatible hardware.

Infinity Ward did not explain the reasons for this decision. However, players who value high refresh rates and smooth visuals may have to consider purchasing a new TV or monitor.
