Quests for Cyberpunk 2077 Sequel Are Made by Modders - CDPR Hired "A Lot" of Enthusiasts

The path of some specialists began on the modding scene.

CD Projekt RED is currently developing The Witcher 4 and a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077. Sometimes special RedStreams are held, during which some details of the work are revealed and interesting facts are shared.

In a recent episode dedicated to update 2.5 for Cyberpunk 2077, the development of the sequel was touched upon. Quest Director and one of the project development leaders Paweł Sasko noted that some specialists at CD Projekt RED are former modders.

According to his estimate, modders make up approximately half of the team responsible for quests in Cyberpunk 2:

[Modding] for me is a kind of first step and entry into the world of video game development. You can see and learn how to create different things. We have hired a lot of modders. And I would say that at the moment, half of the team creating quests are former modders.

With the release of update 2.5 for Cyberpunk 2077, new gameplay features, support for modern technologies, cosmetic items, as well as content in the style of the anime Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 were added to the game.
