In recent days, reports have surfaced online that NVIDIA has abandoned the release of RTX 5090, redirecting the best chips to accelerators for data centers and artificial intelligence, which bring in much more profit.
GeForce Vice President Jeff Fisher spoke in Taipei and stated that this is not true. According to him, production continues, and new graphics cards are regularly sent to distributors. At the same time, he admitted that supply chains are heavily overloaded and the company is doing everything possible to meet demand.
NVIDIA's words contradict reality: the RTX 5090 has disappeared from the company's official US store, and from independent sellers, it costs so much that specialized publications exclude it from rankings of profitable purchases.
The situation has reached a point where photos of an RTX 5090 box on a regular store shelf cause a stir on Reddit. It turns into a peculiar Schrödinger's graphics card: according to NVIDIA, it exists, but for most buyers, it practically doesn't.
