On October 23, modders announced the start of beta testing of a modification for Cyberpunk 2077, which adds a full-fledged cooperative mode to the game. The current version can support up to 8 players.
The Cyberpunk 2077 campaign in a co-op session will take place in a shared world: “the same quests, the same cutscenes, the same shootouts, and everyone has their own V.”
If desired, players will be able to fight each other — for this, the host will have to enable PvP mode. The defeated player does not die, but “falls”. They can be revived by other participants or they will get up on their own. A downed player cannot be finished off and the duel will not roll back the world.
The current test version of the modification “NightCoop - Open BETA - Cyberpunk 2077 CO-OP Online Mod” is distributed free of charge via Nexus Mods. Modders invite players to test the PvP mechanics, as well as the story campaign. The first act and side quests are “most tested”, the rest of the game “may also work, but there may be more bugs there”.
CD Projekt RED recently released update 2.5 — modders clarified that NightCoop is compatible with the new version of the game, and also runs on build 2.31.
