Recently, PlayStation 5 owners have found a new reason for discontent. A Polish gamer under the nickname Kajzer_Milloy complained that he was not allowed to launch a game from a disc.
He explained that to launch The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered, he needed to update the firmware:
Now on PS5, you can't even play a game from a disc without updating the system software to the latest version. PlayStation (Poland) — you are disgusting, greedy corporate trash. Not that I thought better of you before, but for God's sake, how much more **** from your side do we have to endure?
Earlier, tech enthusiasts had already jailbroken PlayStation 5 firmware up to version 13.60. Sony subsequently updated it, but they are gradually finding ways to approach even that. Players are now urging not to download updates, but to jailbreak the console, and use Xbox for multiplayer.
KapikHusky came up with a suggestion: “Well, that means we'll buy an Xbox.” However, it turned out that Kajzer_Milloy already had experience using Microsoft consoles: “I had an Xbox. To be honest, it was much worse back then.” He also explained that he bought a PlayStation 5 because he “likes to play and there is no better solution on the market.”
