Entrepreneurs are happy about BioWare's closure - the studio's games are being sold at inflated prices

For some people, the studio's closure became a reason to reconsider pricing policy.

It recently became known that BioWare studio was closed, and the development of a new installment of the Mass Effect franchise was canceled. Some were saddened by this news, while others are very happy and sometimes lock in profits.

For some, BioWare's closure became a new opportunity to make a profit. Players noticed that now on platforms like eBay, games from the Mass Effect franchise are being sold at inflated prices.

The physical edition of the Mass Effect Legendary Edition game collection was not particularly rare — it was released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Nevertheless, against the backdrop of news about BioWare's closure, the price was “adjusted.” If previously a used copy could be found for sale for $20, and a sealed one for $40-50, now the price tag can exceed the premium edition of Grand Theft Auto VI (estimated at $100).

Listings for the Mass Effect Legendary Edition disc for $140 – $150 have started appearing on eBay. For the Steelbook Edition, they may ask from $190 to $250.

Collectors have started showing greater interest in physical versions of BioWare games, so prices for other items may also be reconsidered.
