In October, Orbifold Studios announced the release of an update for Half-Life 2 RTX. The developers talked about the implementation of several technologies.
Players now have access to an optional 3D-Guided Neural Rendering (DLSS) mode, which is disabled by default, and Windows on ARM support has been added. They also added “DLSS Frame Generation Preset C” — improved frame generation for GeForce RTX 40 and RTX 50 series graphics cards, and RTX Spark laptops.
In addition, players gained the ability to use x5 and x6 frame generation on GeForce RTX 50 graphics cards.
A new rendering parameter, “Sparse Rendering,” has appeared, which reduces the number of calculated lighting samples; the image is restored using DLSS Ray Reconstruction.
The developers of Half-Life 2 RTX noted that during the game, you can open RTX Remix settings with the key combination “Alt + X”.
The Half-Life 2 RTX page on Steam is available at the following link. The project received “mixed” reviews (a rating of 56% after 9 thousand reviews) — many players have complaints about optimization, and there are also reports of crashes.
