Recently, players recalled several old games from the Resident Evil franchise again. The reason was the release of an unofficial browser project.
Thanks to “OutbreakWEB”, you can play Resident Evil Outbreak 1 and 2 for free. Original scenarios are available for players to complete: you can play alone or with friends online.
Resident Evil Outbreak features various characters with their own unique characteristics. In “single-player” mode, the protagonist will be accompanied by AI partners.
Some players have already tested the browser project. For example, a user with the nickname sereneasmiles pointed out technical issues. He also noted that this version helped increase the popularity of Resident Evil Outbreak (previously, fans launched the unofficial OSR server to play the game):
I played a bit: the lobby is very buggy, and it's often impossible to join rooms. In addition, there's quite a strong lag in the game itself. The standard control scheme is terrible, and even after customizing it, analog controls feel strange compared to the PCSX2 emulator. Nevertheless, I'm glad someone actually did this, and it seems the project is much more popular than Outbreak Server Resurrection.
