In October, Ice-Pick Lodge studio and publisher HypeTrain Digital presented a "great October update" for Pathologic 3. The developers prepared content, several features, and other improvements.
Two new difficulty levels are now available to players: an easier one and a harder one. These levels affect many parameters — from the amount of amalgam to the strength of mania and apathy's influence on the Bachelor's condition, making the playthrough "more or less feverish".
New ways to fight Shabnak have appeared:
Originally, we wanted to show that she can be both dangerous and cunning — but the mode where there are two Shabnaks didn't work well. We replaced it (and added another one). You'll see what to do there in the game, but you'll have to rely more on attentiveness than on reaction.
The developers also noted that subtitles are no longer tied to the voiceover language: "You asked for the ability to keep Russian audio but have English subtitles — now it's available".
Some other improvements:
- Photo mode is now available — you can customize the scene, weather, light, and use stickers.
- Added new thoughts of the Bachelor about the things around him.
- Implemented "very many" fixes in quests, dialogues, level design, balance, and interface.
- The game has been optimized for weaker processors and adapted for Steam Deck.
