In late October, Valve announced the full launch of the "Steam personal calendar" feature. It will help players find recently released or upcoming games. Until recently, it was tested in the "Steam Lab".
Now the personal release calendar is part of the Steam store. Valve said that it will form a selection of recently released and upcoming products that, according to the company, will be most interesting to a specific player — for this, statistics are analyzed:
The calendar system is based on what you play the most, so a new game will only affect recommendations if you spend a really long time in it.
Valve noted that the recommendation system retrains daily based on the latest data. And the developers strive to ensure that players do not end up in a "recommendation bubble" composed only of what they have played recently:
We are also concerned that a user might get stuck in too narrow a circle of recommendations, so we try to maintain diversity. In the case of a personal calendar, it is unlikely that every day a new game of the same genre or with the same theme as your recent ones will be released, and also suit you well, so the final recommendations are selected from a wide list of games of all genres released every day.
You can find the personal release calendar on the Steam homepage or at the following link.
