Gamer Unlocks PS5 Potential: 007 First Light Runs at 60 FPS in Quality Mode

An enthusiast managed to run 007 First Light on a regular PS5 at up to 60 frames per second in quality mode, although it is officially limited to 30 FPS.

The modification for 007 First Light was created by an author with the nickname zer0day_, who used a jailbroken PS5 to remove the frame rate limit. In the standard version, players have to choose between improved graphics at 30 FPS and performance mode at 60 FPS.

The author published a video and claims to have recorded it on a base PS5. The experiment shows that the console is capable of more, although achieving 60 FPS in individual scenes does not guarantee a stable frame rate throughout the entire game.

zer0day_ is also experimenting with other projects, including Marvel’s Wolverine, and is exploring the possibility of increasing performance up to 120 FPS. The modification for 007 First Light is available on GitHub and requires a jailbroken console to use.
