Sea monsters and boarding will appear in Crimson Desert — details of the Charting the Unknown expansion revealed

The developers have prepared a lot of new content.

Crimson Desert Enhanced will soon receive a major premium expansion, Charting the Unknown. Will Powers from Pearl Abyss took part in the Dropped Frames podcast and revealed some details about the upcoming DLC.

For example, to begin playing through the storylines of Kliff and other characters in the DLC, players must first complete the main story. These stories will not be connected to each other. The plots were written by a new writer who previously introduced an improved version of the main story.

The ability to build a fleet, settlements, and castles will unlock after chapter 3. The naval portion of the Charting the Unknown expansion includes boarding mechanics, ocean exploration, and encounters with “big, scary” sea monsters. The developers will add underwater environments along the coastline; some lakes/ponds from the base game will also receive similar improvements.

Will Powers also cautioned players not to expect weekly updates following the DLC’s release. However, Pearl Abyss will continue to release major free patches.
