Rockstar Games recently published the release trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI. A user under the nickname Joseph Kaplan decided to remake it in GTA IV.
He used in-game assets to recreate key scenes from the promo video of the new installment in the franchise. Notably, one of the main protagonists, Lucia Caminos, is from Liberty City — the city where the events of GTA IV take place. Some players have long theorized about her potential connection to Niko Bellic.
Overall, Joseph Kaplan managed to successfully recreate most of the scenes from the GTA VI trailer, but with some caveats. The protagonist now polishes a car instead of a boat; in action scenes, the character and his opponents can sometimes clip through textures, the robbery scene looks less epic, and in the “shower” scene, the couple is clothed. Now GTA fans are waiting for a remake based on GTA: Vice City and San Andreas.
The release of Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles.
GearOS Play's made a remake of the GTA VI trailer in the newer GTA V, and he handled the shower scene a bit better.
