The Touhou franchise continues to gradually expand. In late October, studio 月影工房 released a new project titled Escape From Touhou on PC via Steam. This time, players are offered a full-fledged top-down extraction shooter—the game is made in the vein of the sensational Escape from Duckov.
Escape From Touhou is a single-player game about a squad that includes a trio of heroines: Reimu Hakurei, Marisa Kirisame, and Nitori Kawashiro. According to the plot, due to a glitch in an interdimensional teleporter, they end up in an unfamiliar world. Cut off from Gensokyo, they are stripped of most of their usual powers, including the ability to fly, surrounded by armed factions and scattered supplies.
Escape From Touhou follows the rule typical of extraction shooters: “the loot is yours only if you manage to extract it.” In addition, hunger and thirst mechanics are implemented, so during a raid, you must not forget about food and drinks to satisfy the squad’s needs.
