Shadow’s return worked: Sonic X Shadow Generations is selling millions of copies

The game has sold over 3 million copies, as announced on the game’s official page.

Sonic X Shadow Generations received a warm reception following its release alongside the updated version of the classic project. Last year, it also made its way to Nintendo Switch 2.

Thanks to its appearance on multiple gaming platforms, Sonic’s enduring popularity, and Shadow’s return to the spotlight, the game had plenty of advantages on its way to achieving sales figures that many games would envy. Sales have already surpassed 3 million copies.

It is still unknown whether Shadow will appear in the sequel to Sonic Frontiers or if Sega is preparing a new game.
