Black Library has announced the book “Realm of Silence” by Chris Wraight. This is a sequel to the fan-favorite Death Guard story from the novel “The Lords of Silence”. The plot resumes after Nurgle’s warriors conquered Sabatine — an ancient Adeptus Astartes fortress world — and its surrounding planets.
The Lords of Silence, led by the ferocious Siege Master Vorx, have established a new plague realm dedicated to the glory of Nurgle. However, in the grim darkness of the far future, peace and stability rarely last long, and the Death Guard proved not to be as united as they might wish.
Soon, drawn by the enclave’s apparent vulnerability, new enemies begin circling it. The Grand Defiler’s newest domain is threatened not only by outside forces: old grudges fester within its borders. Vorx’s desire to forge a kingdom of his own clashes with the hunger of his second-in-command Dragan to carry the war out into the wider Imperium.
Now it remains to be seen whether the fragile Realm of Silence can survive the mounting threats from both within and without — or whether the tides of endless war will wash it away as quickly as it was created.
The new novel will be available in standard hardback, as well as in a handsome special edition featuring an antique brass-finish metal medallion on the cover, gold page edges, and a new afterword by Chris Wraight.
“The Lords of Silence” will also receive a hardback re-release to match “Realm of Silence”, allowing Grandfather Nurgle to begin taking over readers’ bookshelves.
Alongside “Realm of Silence” and “The Lords of Silence”, fans will be able to purchase other Nurgle-themed merchandise. These include an 80 by 30 cm cotton wall scroll depicting Siege Master Vorx in his plague kingdom and a faux-leather notebook featuring bloated flies.
