The release of Grand Theft Auto VI is approaching, and the developers are gradually revealing various details about the project. An important part of the game is its radio stations, which feature both contemporary tracks and vintage ones.
Recently, thanks to GTA VI, a song by British artist Cliff Richard trended once again. It is “Devil Woman” (1976) from his album “I'm Nearly Famous”. It had previously drawn attention due to the 2017 film “I, Tonya”, but the surge in the song’s popularity from Rockstar’s upcoming title is noticeably higher.
According to available data, following the release of the GTA VI video, daily streams of “Devil Woman” increased by 325%.
In a conversation with The Times, Cliff Richard admitted that he didn’t know what “Grand Theft Auto” was (even though Rockstar paid to use the song on the soundtrack):
“I was told about it! My nephew, who’s got two boys, said the boys came running to him screaming, ‘Dad, it’s Uncle Cliff!’. They had no idea I could sing like that. It’s a game show, right? One of the biggest on television?”
Cliff is glad that his song is enjoying popularity once again:
“People aren’t going to say, ‘Oh, Cliff Richard is the past’ anymore. I am the past, but it is precisely that past that makes the present what it is today.”
Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for release on November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles.
