Insomniac Games is working on an X-Men game that, judging by the studio's new job listings, will feature multiple playable heroes, team mechanics, and large-scale boss fights.
The project first became known following a data leak in 2023. At the time, it was reported that the release might happen around 2030. Now, Insider Gaming has drawn attention to job listings that reveal potential features of the game.
The studio is looking for a lead hero designer to work on combat systems, traversal, special abilities, and character progression. The description repeatedly mentions multiple playable heroes, which suits a team of mutants with diverse powers.
Insomniac is also seeking combat and gameplay programmers. They will work on enemy and ally behavior, mini-bosses, and large-scale encounters. The job posts specifically emphasize the importance of responsive controls, dynamic combat, and world traversal.
Switching heroes may help diversify the gameplay experience. However, there has been no official presentation yet, and given the estimated development timeline, the game might launch directly on PS6.
