Strong launch for the Chinese action title – Phantom Blade Zero has already drawn over 400 thousand players on Steam

According to analysts' estimates, the Chinese action game from S-Game may have sold more than a million copies in its first few days alone.

Phantom Blade Zero drew over 400 thousand concurrent players on Steam in the first hours following its launch on PS5 and PC. The developers released a day-one patch and warned of issues with NVIDIA drivers.

Prior to release, analysts at Alinea Analytics estimated game sales at around 850 thousand copies on Steam and PS5. After the initial reviews came out, about 80 thousand more copies were sold, and taking into account the Chinese platforms Tencent and WeGame, total sales may have exceeded one million.

Players from Asia made the main contribution to this success: according to preliminary estimates, China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong accounted for 62.5% of sales. For comparison, Black Myth: Wukong has sold more than 30 million copies.

The day-one update, measuring about 5 GB, improves ray tracing and path tracing performance, as well as fixes bugs. Director and producer Soulframe Liang specifically warned about issues with NVIDIA driver 621.01 and recommended version 617.42. Those experiencing crashes are advised to roll back to the previous driver or wait for an update.
