Crimson Desert broke after major update 2.04.00 — first hotfix released

The developers are starting to patch the game.

In late October, the developers of Crimson Desert Enhanced introduced the major 2.04.00 update and the Charting the Unknown premium expansion for the game.

Soon players began sharing feedback, and the Pearl Abyss studio promptly rolled out a hotfix aimed at addressing several technical issues related to the new mechanics.

For example, the jerky camera movement when boarding a sailboat was fixed, and the developers also eliminated an issue where aiming a sailboat cannon would cause the camera distance to shift.

Other changes in the first hotfix for the Crimson Desert Enhanced 2.04.00 update include:

  • Fixed an issue where certain Limit skills did not function properly.
  • [Damiana] Fixed an issue that allowed Shield Throw to be cast repeatedly underwater.
  • Fixed an issue where the Radiant Seed could be equipped during combat.
  • Fixed an issue where certain plants would clip through walls when building a residence.
  • Fixed an issue where items in a residence were placed incorrectly if the monitor resolution and the in-game resolution did not match.
  • Improved the “Footsteps in Unfamiliar Lands” quest: it can now be started right at the quest pickup location.
  • Fixed an issue where Kliff would sometimes respawn in an inaccessible area after dying in the desert.

Early reviews for the Crimson Desert Enhanced: Charting the Unknown expansion are “mostly positive” (with a 77% rating after several hundred reviews). Some users complain that the “game is broken” on AMD 9000-series graphics cards.
