At the end of October, The Indie Stone studio announced the start of testing for update 42.22 for Project Zomboid. It adds several long-requested features to the game.
Characters in Project Zomboid have been taught to interact with ladders placed on the map (the “E” key). Now the developers will be reviewing feedback on how the mechanic functions.

In addition, characters will be able to use the crowbar for more than just stunning zombies. Now the tool can be used to pry open locked doors, windows, and gates. However, you won’t be able to break reinforced doors with a crowbar.
The developers of Project Zomboid have revised their approach to releasing updates. They will now release builds to the Pre-Release branch (which has replaced Unstable) before moving them to the Stable branch:
What does this mean for you? If you are a casual player — absolutely nothing. But if you are a modder, server admin, or want to participate in testing — you can opt into the Pre-Release branch. We plan to keep the build in Pre-Release for at least a week before pushing it to Stable.
Now the update scheme looks like this: an update is released to the Pre-Release branch, followed by testing (at least a week), and then it heads to the full release (Stable branch). As usual, the developers recommend backing up your saves before switching to the test branch. The full description of the October update is available at the following link.
