Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 has arrived on Nintendo Switch 2 and demonstrates decent performance: the campaign runs at 30 FPS, and multiplayer at 60 FPS with rare drops to 50 frames.
This is the first installment in the series on Nintendo consoles in 13 years. Following the acquisition of Activision Blizzard, Microsoft promised to provide Call of Duty with ten years of support on the Japanese company’s platforms.
Previously, Black Ops II and Ghosts showed weak results on Wii U, after which Activision ceased releasing games in the series for Nintendo devices. Now, the cooperation has resumed.
On Switch 2, the game looks quite decent, although it is far from the quality of the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions. In the campaign, a stable 30 FPS is achieved through dynamic resolution ranging from 360p to 720p. In handheld mode, it can drop to 360p.
Multiplayer runs at 60 FPS, although drops to 50 frames occur in intense “6v6” matches. When connected to a 120Hz display, a 40 FPS mode becomes available.
