Following mass layoffs, DOOM creators team up with Wolfenstein developers

id Software, the creators of DOOM, have begun collaborating more closely with MachineGames and are anticipating successful joint projects, work on which started even before the mass layoffs at Xbox.

This was shared by id Software studio director Marty Stratton at an event dedicated to DOOM: The Dark Ages – Revelations. He confirmed that after cutting roughly half of its staff, the studio retained the capability to fully pursue the development of games and technology.

We are working closer with MachineGames than ever. We have always had a very close partnership, but right now both teams have talented specialists and engineers. We are on a truly wonderful path that began even before the layoffs. We started this work at the beginning of the year and are very pleased with the results. We are very optimistic about what lies ahead.
