The remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for Nintendo Switch 2 reportedly uses AMD FSR 1.0 instead of DLSS, despite the console featuring dedicated NVIDIA hardware for AI image upscaling.
The information was shared by user SuperMetalDave64 on X. According to his data, the game uses FSR 1.0 for resolution upscaling and SMAA for edge anti-aliasing. This information can allegedly be found in the Switch 2 settings menu after pre-ordering or installing the game.
The choice seems unexpected, as the console is equipped with an NVIDIA Ampere chip featuring Tensor Cores and DLSS support. This technology improves image clarity without significantly increasing system load. FSR 1.0 uses a simpler spatial upscaling method. The leaker believes that for this specific project, the difference may prove negligible.
The remake will be released on November 5, 2026, exclusively on Switch 2.
