World of Warcraft: Forever will be released on November 4, 2026. A few days before the launch, the British branch of Xbox posted a roundup of November console releases on the social network X. Among them were Shrek 2: Remastered and the new version of the MMORPG from Blizzard. The post quickly caught the attention of fans hoping to journey to Azeroth on something other than a PC.
Microsoft soon deleted the post and apologized for the mistake. Xbox UK representatives clarified that World of Warcraft: Forever will be released on PC and Mac via Battle.net, and an appearance on Xbox consoles is not currently planned. The company admitted that it accidentally included the game in the list of November releases and promised to publish a corrected version of the material.

However, the fans’ hopes did not arise out of nowhere. Blizzard has already added full controller support to World of Warcraft: Forever, which simplifies adapting controls for consoles. Earlier, information about the game’s age rating in Brazil also surfaced, and company representatives spoke about the desire to release projects across different devices. There were even mentions of Project Helix, Microsoft’s future console.
