To track it down, players will have to explore caves, abandoned ruins, and sites hidden beneath the ice for decades.
The main new feature will be a special resource allowing city automation to reach unprecedented levels. Technologies harnessing the energy of blizzards will also be introduced, making it possible to turn destructive snowstorms into a source of valuable resources for developing the settlement.
Following the release of the expansion, 11 bit studios will limit further support for Frostpunk 2 to technical maintenance. Nevertheless, the franchise will continue: the studio is already working on Frostpunk 1886 and a mysterious game set in the same universe that will introduce a different genre.
