PlayStation is preparing to launch a large-scale advertising campaign for Until Dawn 2, which will be released on PS5 on January 28, 2027, offering players an extremely brutal horror experience featuring severed heads, dismembered bodies, and other shocking scenes.
Until Dawn received an age rating in Singapore with the strictest adult classification.
According to the board’s report, the developers from Firesprite have prepared numerous violent episodes. The game will feature decapitations, bodies sliced in half, and mutilated corpses. In one scene, a character has a lung ripped straight out of their chest. Other protagonists are impaled with sharp objects or torn apart by grotesque monsters. Strong profanity, illicit substance use, and romantic scenes with sexual undertones are also reported.
The setting will also change. Instead of the snow-covered mountains of the first installment, players will find an abandoned tropical island. The main characters will be internet bloggers and ghost hunters who secured a contract for their own TV show after a high-profile stunt online. Their trip to a ruined resort to shoot a show about paranormal phenomena quickly turns into a fight for survival.
The gameplay foundation will remain the same: cinematic horror, several playable characters, and a butterfly effect system where conversations, decisions, and reactions during chases determine the fate of the entire group.
