In early November, Triumph Studios and publisher Paradox Interactive announced the release of The Silver Seas expansion for Age of Wonders 4. The developers decided to dedicate this DLC to ocean exploration, trade, and pirates.
A new culture has appeared: merchants who see sources of profit in everything. Players are invited to build cities not only on land, but also on water, and profit from every deal. You will be able to choose one of the subcultures: “Cartels are run by schemers who do not shy away from smuggling and leverage. Baronies are the domains of merchant nobles who place bounties on the heads of enemies.”
In addition, two new forms were added to the game: “Aqualons,” demi-humans who command the secrets of the sea, and “Sharkoids,” monstrous warriors with a terrifying grin. The “Children of the Waves” trait will allow a people to become seafaring.
The creators of Age of Wonders 4 have also prepared new naval events, landmarks, ancient wonders; a new magic material, “pale waveflower,” and an infestation: “symbiont spawning swarm.”
A new dwelling has appeared — the brotherhood of free captains: “Pirate captains possess unique personalities and harbor secrets. Form alliances or ruthlessly destroy them to gain access to goods and warriors.”
