Has Blizzard learned how to launch World of Warcraft? WoW: Forever launched surprisingly smoothly

Despite payment glitches, missing characters, and crashes, the launch of World of Warcraft: Forever went smoothly without massive disconnects or prolonged queues.

World of Warcraft: Forever has opened in all regions, and the launch is going smoother than expected: queues are around 5–10 minutes, servers are stable, although players have encountered some isolated errors.

World of Warcraft: Forever was launched on November 5 at 2:00 AM Moscow time. After the servers went live, users were placed in a queue, and upon logging in, saw a message about temporary unavailability. Blizzard acknowledged the issue and resolved it promptly. Many simply closed the client and rejoined the queue. The developers also reported issues with payment processing.

An hour later, queues hovered around ten minutes, with no serious delays or massive disconnects observed. Players complained about restrictions on creating characters of certain factions on PvP servers and intense competition for mobs in starting zones. Reports also surfaced regarding the disappearance of pre-created characters. Additionally, AMD users reported driver crashes, black screens, and PC reboots. It remains unclear whether the issue is related to the game.

Hours later, the launch looks like the smoothest in recent years among Blizzard games. Most players can comfortably log into the game and explore the updated Azeroth.
